We still have a child in the house so the use of higher protocol names isn't always possible. To get around that we have endearments that we use that remind us of our relationship. Sir's first language was Spanish, he is now bilingual so he calls me "Mi vida" meaning My life and i refer to him as "mi amor" meaning my love. When we are in a kinky environment or when we are playing i refer to him as Sir.
Neither of us is into humiliation play so we are not comfortable with some of the other names that i have heard used, this works for us.
